Detailed description
The cap is 2.5–8 cm diameter, convex, expanding, centre depressed, silky-fibrillose. It is greyish white, sometimes yellowish or brownish over the disc in age. The gills are loose, irregular, white, changing to buff and then pink. The stalk is white to greyish white, solid, tapering upwards, up to 8 cm long, with a saccate volva. The spores are 5–7.5 x 3–5 µm, and smooth.
