  1. Clianthus maximus

  2. my Kakabeak looks like it is sick. Alot of the leaves are dying although it has had lots of flowers. Is there anything I can do, or is this normal

  3. It would be helpful to know how old it is and if there are any signs of borer

  4. Clianthus is often partially deciduous - dropping leaves when it flowers, so what you are seeing could also be quite natural. However, as Mike states check the branches carefully for borer.

  5. If it is growing in Waimate it may have been hit by cold. It can grow in cold climates such as Dunedin, but does not like being heavily frosted or the ground becoming frozen
