Etymology

aeonium: Ancient name used by the Greek physician Pedanius Dioscorides (circa 40-90 AD) for a plant similar to Aeonium arboreum

haworthii: Named after Adrian Hardy Haworth (1776-1833), English entomologist, botanist and carcinologist who authored several works on succelents.
