Life cycle and dispersal
Perennial herb. Reproduces mainly asexually from leaves which develop plantlets, stem cuttings and layering. There is some evidence that seed may be produced; seed is small and long-lived. Spread through disarticulation of stems and leaves. Pieces may float on water and plants are often found established in roadside gutters adjacent garden plantings. Also established through the careless disposal of garden waste.
