Glabrose or rarely with a few scattered hairs on upper stem.
Distribution
Widespread naturalised species recorded from all the main islands of the New Zealand archipelago and also the Kermadec Islands.
Similar taxa
Distinguished from Aster novi-belgii and its hybrids by the narrower leaves with cuneeate bases, and the smaller capitula with usually white, narrow (usually < 1mm) ligules.
