Climate change and biodiversity
The impacts of climate change on our native species are not well understood, but some predictions are not very positive.
NZPCN has made a submission on the He Pou a Rangi/Climate Change Commission’s Advice to Government with our concerns about climate change impacts on our native plants and their ecosystems, and some comments on mitigation and adaptive approaches. We look forward to ongoing opportunities to participate in discussions on other pieces of legislation such as the proposed Natural and Built Environment Act, the Strategic Planning Act and the Climate Change Adaptation Act.
