Kapiti Coast Planting Event
Spade Aid is the Greater Wellington Regional Council’s biggest planting event for the season and this year we will be planting previously farmed areas to improve the habitat. Over time these trees will sequester carbon and help reduce greenhouse emissions.
Not the best at gardening? No worries! Our knowledgeable staff will be on board to help you give the trees the best start in their new home.
The planting site includes flat and rolling dune slopes, and the plants will be laid out ready to plant. At the top of the hill, you get stunning views across to Kāpiti Island and back across the park.
Come along any time from 10am to 1pm to lend a hand.
We will have free hot drinks, light refreshments and a sausage sizzle for lunch to help keep you fueled for the day.
Grab a friend, grab a spade and get involved.
