Under the New Zealand Native Plant Act of 1934 it is an offence to collect native plants in without landowner’s permission, or in such a way as to deplete natural populations. Therefore if you are willing to help remember that any seed gathered must be obtained either from cultivated material, or with the landowner’s permission. Any seed obtained from land administered by the New Zealand Department of Conservation will require the necessary permits.
