Etymology
hydrocotyle: From the Greek hydor ‘water’ and cotyle ‘cup’, in reference to the cup-like hollow at the base if the leaf.
novae-zeelandiae: Of New Zealand
montana: From the Latin mons ‘mountain’, meaning growing on mountains
