Bushy rounded greyish-green shrub of subalpine South Island. Bark with long loose flaky strips. Leaves small, upright, spread along twig, greyish green and whiteish below. Flowers yellow, daisy-like, in clusters at tip of twigs.
Pappate achenes are dispersed by wind (Thorsen et al., 2009).
brachyglottis: Name comes from the Greek words brachus meaning “short” and glottis meaning “the vocal apparatus of the larynx”
cassinioides: Like a cassinia, a New Zealand shrub
